As you read this message, allow me to introduce myself. I'm Sudheesh, and for over 10 years, I've called the enchanting city of Basel in Switzerland my home, holding a Swiss C working permit.
Professionally, I am a spiritual yoga teacher. My journey continued at the Sivananda Ashram in Kerala, India, where I studied international yoga teachers training course..Sivananda Yoga is a form of Hatha Yoga that follows the teachings of Swami Sivananda and Swami Vishnudevananda. It is based on five key principles known as the Five Points of Yoga. Here are the five points:
1. **Proper Exercise (Asanas):** Sivananda Yoga emphasises practicing asanas or yoga postures to maintain physical health and flexibility. These asanas are designed to strengthen and tone the body while also promoting relaxation and balance.
2. **Proper Breathing (Pranayama):** The practice of pranayama involves breath control techniques aimed at increasing vital energy (prana) in the body. Through various breathing exercises, practitioners learn to regulate their breath, improve lung capacity, and enhance overall well-being. Pranayama helps in controlling the breath, removing energy blocks, and balancing the energy centres, Chakras.
3. **Proper Relaxation (Savasana):** Savasana, or corpse pose, is a key component of Sivananda Yoga. It involves consciously relaxing the body and mind, allowing for deep rest and rejuvenation. This practice helps reduce stress, calm the nervous system, and promote mental clarity and inner peace.
4. **Proper Diet (Vegetarianism):** Sivananda Yoga advocates for a sattvic (pure) vegetarian diet as part of a yogic lifestyle. This diet consists of fresh, wholesome foods such as fruits, vegetables, grains, nuts, and seeds, believed to nourish the body and support spiritual growth.
5. **Positive Thinking and Meditation (Vedanta and Dhyana):** Sivananda Yoga promotes cultivating positive thoughts, attitudes, and emotions through the practice of Vedanta (self-inquiry) and Dhyana (meditation). By quieting the mind and turning inward, practitioners develop greater self-awareness, concentration, and spiritual insight, leading to a deeper understanding of the self and the universe.

This experience, in an international yoga hub, provided me with a profound opportunity to learn from diverse cultures and backgrounds. Later, before moving to the UK, I began teaching yoga and providing Ayurvedic massage for a short while. Upon arriving in the UK, I specialised in Thai Yoga Massage, Psychotherapy, and Hypnotherapy. Prior to that, I had also honed my skills in Ayurvedic massage, yoga instruction, and holistic practices in India before transitioning to the UK and Switzerland.
Before my path led me to yoga, I delved into hotel management in India, gaining valuable experience in both kitchen and front office operations.
For me, maintaining a healthy lifestyle is paramount. I prioritise wholesome eating, regular yoga and pranayama practice, and daily self-massage with Ayurvedic or pure sesame oil. An enthusiast of cycling and walking, I often find joy in exchanging smiles with strangers as I explore the city. My diet is centred around green teas, smoothies, juices, and fruit salads, with evenings dedicated to crafting vegan Ayurvedic dishes infused with flavors from Kerala and regions of North and South India.
Reflecting on my upbringing surrounded by loving family, friends, and neighbours in India, I hold dearly to the beauty of life. Now, in Switzerland, I continue to embrace life's wonders and share positivity with those around me.
Whether it's through yoga, massage, psychotherapy, hypnosis, or meditation, I am dedicated to spreading positivity and offering support to my clients and friends. I've been a source of encouragement for friends in Switzerland and India for years, always ready to lend a listening ear or share uplifting advice.

Journey to Holistic Well-being: The Story of Sudheesh, Journey of Self-Discovery: From Kerala's (India) Serenity to Switzerland's Wellness
I was born in Kerala, the southern part of India, renowned as the main region where Ayurveda thrives. Kerala boasts the highest literacy rate
in India (99%) and is known for its stunning beaches, backwaters, rivers, hills, coffee, tea, and cardamom plantations, as well as lush paddy fields.
I grew up in a picturesque village blessed with clean water from natural wells and surrounded by coconut trees, paddy fields, temples, and ponds. Pollution was non-existent, allowing us to enjoy pure water for drinking and bathing without any chemical additives. Our village has been fortunate to remain untouched by calamities or floods.
My father was a traditional farmer, and I spent my childhood alongside my brother and sister, tending to our fields under his guidance. Growing up studying in a school in my village fostered strong connections with the community, where neighbours were always willing to lend a helping hand. During my infancy, a neighbour girl cared for me while my mother managed household chores and field work, reflecting the close-knit bonds within our community.
Around the age of 17, I began experiencing lethargy, fatigue, and weight loss. Despite seeking medical assistance and trying various medications, my condition showed no improvement. My father, an avid reader who abstained from vices like smoking, drinking, shouting, or lying, introduced me to yoga as a potential solution. Though initially skeptical, I embarked on a journey of self-healing through yoga practice, driven by a determination to combat my illness.
To my surprise, within a week of practicing yoga regularly, I noticed significant improvements in my health. Encouraged by this transformation, I pursued studies in hotel management and later delved into Ayurvedic massage therapy. A chance encounter with a yogi friend in an ashram in the hills in India introduced me to formal yoga practice under the guidance of a guru, which further enhanced my well-being.
Eager to deepen my understanding, I undertook yoga teacher training and immersed myself in the practice, eventually teaching individuals from diverse backgrounds around the world. After two years of intensive study and practice, I pursued advanced yoga teacher training and expanded my expertise by studying Thai Yoga Massage, Hypnotherapy, and Psychotherapy in the UK.
Now based in Switzerland, I continue my journey of spiritual growth and well-being, collaborating with individuals to facilitate their paths to health and happiness. Each person's journey is unique, shaped by individual experiences and circumstances. I approach my work with empathy, understanding, and acceptance, striving to create a non-judgmental space where healing can flourish.
